Makar Sankranti is one of the festival that is celebrated in almost all parts of India with great devotion, fervour & gaiety. It is a harvest festival. It is the beginning of the season of blossoms, happiness & joy. The day is believed to mark the arrival of spring in India.

Til (sesame) is the prasad for Makar Sankranti & laddu is the most popular preparation. Til Laddu is the special recipe of Makar Sankaranti made with sesame seed, jaggery & ghee.

Til (sesame) laddu is a healthy sweet good for heart, bone & brain.Til (sesame) is packed with all the essentials to keep you healthy. 



Ingredients:



250 grams til (sesame)
200 grams of grated jaggery (gur)
1 tsp of cardamom powder
1 tbsp of ghee


Method:


1. Roast til (sesame seeds) in fry pan on medium-low heat until raw smell goes, then remove
    from 
heat & transfer to another bowl, let it cool.

2. Grind roasted sesame seeds until coarsely powder. Transfer to a bowl, add grated jaggery,
    cardamom powder, ghee & mix well.

3. Make laddus & keep in a airtight container.

4. These laddus stay good for one week.

  2. Love the sesame flavor and its wholesome goodness. And yes, I melt over laddus for the ghee and cardamom fragrant too.
