Aloo Halwa



Have you ever heard of a halwa made with potato? Yes I am talking about Potato Halwa!
It is one of the desserts normally cooked during festivals like Shravan/Navaratri. During
fast/vrat craving for eating sweet? Then you might like to try this new type of halwa.
!! The Potato Halwa !!

No one can believe that potato halwa can be as much delicious. It is a rich in nutrient sweet
dish prepared from the mix of mashed potatoes, ghee, milk & sugar. Can be an easy dessert recipe for unannounced guests using handy ingredients.


Ingredients:


3 large potatoes boiled 
1 tbsp ghee
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tbsp cashews chopped & lightly roasted
1/4 tbsp almonds flaked or chopped
A pinch of cardamom powder
1/2 tbsp raisins.


Method:


 1. Peel off boiled potatoes & mash by hand. Keep aside.

 2. In a pan heat ghee, roast mashed potatoes into it for 1-2 minutes. 

 3. Add milk, sugar, raisins & mix well.

 4. Cook for another 8-10 min stirring frequently.

 5. Add cardamom. Stir once & turn off the flame.

 6. Garnish with flaked almonds & cashews.

7. Serve hot.

  2. Quite surprised to find this recipe, never heard of aloo halwa at all. Will have to give this a try. Still skeptical though :)
