Aloo Mutter 
(Potato Peas)

Aloo Mutter


2 cups of cubed potatoes (aloo)
1/2 cup of peas (mutter)
1/2 cup of chopped onion
1 cup pureed tomatoes
1 tsp ginger-garlic
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
2 tbsp of oil
Salt to taste


1. Make a paste of the onion, ginger & garlic.

2. Steam the peas with salt & set aside.

3. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add cumin seeds, onion,ginger-garlic paste. Saute until the
    onions have turned golden brown.

4. Add tomato puree, potatoes, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, salt & chilli powder & stir

5.  Add 1 cup of water, simmer covered until the potatoes are cooked.

6. Add the peas & simmer for 5 more minutes adding more water if required. 

7. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
